Thanks so much for sharing your stories, encouragement and human encyclopedia of resources with us at Virginia Tech! My final goal is to use GIS and Remote Sensing to ensure food security, predict famine risk areas and in general support development in the under-developed world (especially relating to agriculture). I've been scouring the internet and struggling to find a starting point. Any suggestions? A First off, you're in a really good position. Forestry and agricultureissues present lots of sustainable opportunities for you to to do what
you do best. You have opportunities within government, the private sector, and
local and international organizations. That your map, so let's start
from there. Remember the process through it all: 1. find a cool
company/organization that aligns with you; 2. email/call them with a
crisp message stating why you are good for them; and 3. repeat until
you're doing what you really want. Take a look at these:
